Full Stack Developer – Engineering

Hi, my name is Ilja and I work in the Engineering team at CurifyLabs. I focus on software development, bringing my experience from both the software development and pharmaceutical fields to the team. I'm currently studying at Haaga-Helia University and have worked for several years in a pharmacy as technical staff.

What drew me to CurifyLabs was the innovative prospect of 3D printed medicine, with the ability to provide personalized medication to people. It's an exciting and interesting field to be a part of, and I'm happy to be part of such a tight-knit company.

My workday is diverse, and consists of software development, hardware development, and collaborating with my colleagues in various projects. 

Outside of work, I love spending time with my two Shetland sheepdogs, Luca and Taika. In my spare time, I also enjoy reading books on science and technology, watching sci-fi and fantasy movies, and hiking in the Finnish wilderness. I'm a geek at heart and enjoy all kinds of board games and video games. In fact, I co-founded the board game club at the company. Fun fact: I own one of the heaviest board games at almost 10kg.

CurifyLabs emerged from a decade of research by Niklas Sandler Topelius at Åbo Akademi University, Finland. His investigation on modernizing extemporaneous drug manufacturing grabbed the attention of Charlotta Topelius, a successful entrepreneur, who recognized an opportunity to revolutionize manual compounding processes in pharmacies.

In 2021, CurifyLabs was established with a mission to digitize and simplify pharmacy compounding. 

Since then, CurifyLabs has grown and assembled a team of experts in pharmaceutical formulation development, software engineering, and quality control. 

At CurifyLabs, we remain committed to providing solutions that enable optimal treatments for all patients.
